Episcopal Homes – Midway Village
The seven-story Midway Village (Episcopal Homes) in St. Paul serves the needs of seniors at the former site of the famous Porky’s drive-in. “Midway Village has been wildly successful since the day it opened,” said Episcopal Homes CEO Marvin Plakut. Episcopal Homes has designed a “true village”.
We, at Benson-Orth, were very honored to be the general contractor on their project and to play a part in Episcopal Homes’ success. It was their first “steel and concrete post-tension project” and boosts several environmental attributes. “Expectations for Midway Village–the largest Episcopal Homes project to date–have been met. Our vision for how we would use the space has come to pass,” Platuk said. “It has everything we wanted.”
MN Physician features The Gardens (Episcopal Homes) for its innovative ”Green House Model of Care.”
In 2012, Episcopal Homes began planning a $46 million senior living complex that would revolutionize the conventional nursing home physical site and would create an environment of “resident-centered” care. Benson-Orth was again honored to be the general contractor on this project and salutes Episcopal Homes for their commitment to transforming the quality of life for our elders. The Gardens opened in January 2015 and it is Minnesota’s first implementation of the “Green House Model of Care” in a skilled setting.
